Petersburg runners finish 12th at annual Klondike relay

Petersburg’s team took 12th place overall in the Klondike International Road Relay from Skagway to Whitehorse last weekend. They call themselves “Smashanuska” and they were competing with 123 other teams from the US and Canada this year. There are ten legs in the 109-mile, overnight race. The Smashanuska runners finished in 15 hours, 8 minutes and 52 seconds. Matt Lichtenstein spoke with team member Erin Watkins:

Jury duty questionnaires go online

Local residents may be seeing a postcard in the mail in the next two weeks, calling them to jury duty at Petersburg trial courts for 2016. There’s a change this year with jury questionnaires. Those forms can be filled out and submitted online now, instead of through the mail. more
