The jury began deliberating Friday night in the trial of a Petersburg man who had an armed confrontation with local police last fall. The state alleges that 30-year-old Jace Cunningham fired his assault rifle and threatened to shoot officers when he encountered them at a roadblock on Frederick Point Road. Petersburg voters on Tuesday will be deciding whether to allow commercial marijuana sales and importing pot into the borough for sale. Supporters of prohibition don’t want the new industry or increased drug use in the borough, while opponents say pot sales should be done out in the open, regulated and taxed. more
