Borough says ‘no’ to local contractor’s offer to settle harbor bid issue

The Petersburg Borough Assembly this week denied a local contractor’s request that they be reimbursed for the money they spent on their bid for the North Harbor replacement project in exchange for dropping their appeals over the contract award. Matt Lichtenstein reports:

Commercial fisheries in Southeast Alaska have survived two years of state budget cuts but not without some changes. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game’s Division of Commercial Fisheries has cut some positions, ended some monitoring programs, and found some new funding sources. more
