Petersburg gun range work underway

Petersburg’s gun range is getting some big improvements this summer and the work is scheduled to start up this week. The work’s funded by three state grants totaling 100-thousand dollars. Joe Viechnicki spoke with Chris Cotta, the borough’s assistant public works director and the president of the Petersburg Rod and Gun Club about the project.

The construction will mean intermittent closures at the gun range between now and the end of August. Notices will be on the radio and the borough’s website.

Sewer line work to slow traffic south of Petersburg

Motorists can expect more traffic delays on South Nordic Drive south of downtown Petersburg next week. Work is expected to start on installation of a new sewer line in the roadway for about one mile out to the ferry terminal. That’s being done in conjunction with sidewalk, drainage and pavement replacement on that stretch of South Nordic. more
