Forest Service, contractors back to work

The US Forest Service, like other federal agencies, is open for business again. That means about 70 once-furloughed employees have returned to their jobs in Petersburg again. It also means work can resume for some contractors who had been stalled by the 16-day shutdown. Matt Lichtenstein reports:

A Petersburg fisherman is working to recover two boats aground and sunken on the Kupreanof Island shoreline across from Petersburg. The 42-foot fiberglass gillnetter Moonshadow and the 57-foot wooden tender Robert G. Johnston both belong to Arnold Enge. more
