Saturated slopes slide south of downtown in January

PETERSBURG-AK There was some significant landslide activity along Mitkof Highway in Petersburg last month as warmer temperatures and rain saturated the snow pack and soil. There were several snow slides on to twin creeks road as well as a more dramatic landslide above the homes along the highway itself. There were no injuries or property damage report, but plenty of debris and noise.
