PETERSBURG-AK The Petersburg School District's top choice for high school principal is in town. Richard Dormer has been visiting with staff, students, parents and touring the community.
For the past two years, Dormer has worked as Dean of Students at Aloha High School in Beaverton, Oregon. The school has about 18 hundred students and Dormer spent five years as a science teacher there before taking the Deans position. Dormer is married with two young children. He holds a Master’s degree in teaching from Pacific University and a bachelors of science in biology from Oregon state. He’s also a soccer coach. Dormer had a full schedule Thursday, but took some time to talk with KFSK’s Matt Lichtenstein about his current job and his interest in working at Petersburg High:
