PETERSBURG, AK The Petersburg City Council last week agreed to add another 184 thousand dollars in spending to next year’s budget. The funds will mainly go to support emergency services, the citywide computer network, and economic development. More than half of the money will come out of the city’s general fund which is already facing another deficit year. Councilors at Friday’s special meeting quizzed staff about the requests, but they ultimately agreed the items were too important to deny.
