PETERSBURG, AK More than half a year after the devastating earthquake shook the Caribbean Island nation of Haiti, residents there are still dealing with the aftermath and recovering from injuries suffered in that natural disaster. Pat McAdoo, a physical therapist who does relief work at the Petersburg Medical Center several times a year, volunteered for eight days in July at the University of Miami’s project Medishare hospital in Port-au-Prince. The retiree and Anchorage resident worked with a team of volunteers from around the North American continent at the Bernard Mevs hospital, doing physical therapy with earthquake victims. Joe Viechnicki talked with McAdoo about the experience.
