PETERSBURG, AK A free book giveaway program at libraries across the country has fallen victim to federal budget cuts. The program has distributed thousands of books to children in Petersburg over the last three decades. Meanwhile, another privately-funded book giveaway program for the youngest readers is starting up locally.
