She was the only one of three finalists who interviewed in Petersburg. Medical Center Board President Tom Abbott says she impressed those involved in the hiring.<br />

"t was very evident after we met Liz that she was everything that she appeared to be on paper. We were all very excited about her potential."<br />

Woodyard will begin work in mid-July. She replaces retiring administrator John Bringhurst.<br />
<br />
Woodyard has masters’ degrees in education and nursing. <br />
<br />
"Quality of care, patient care is extremely important to her. She uses a lot of benchmarks to monitor quality care. So she seemed like a very good fit for where we want to move into the future here with the medical center."<br />

A phone message left for Woodyard was not returned in time for this report.<br />
