PETERSBURG-AK Architects are refining the final design for Petersburg’s new library building and have conducted a few virtual tours of the new public structure. The Juneau company MRV Architects says design documents should be 95 percent complete in the next two weeks. MRV has designed libraries in Juneau, Douglas, Wrangell and Haines, and will add new libraries in the Mendenhall Valley and Kodiak to that list in the next few years. Petersburg’s new building will be just under 10-thousand square feet, located on city land at Haugen Drive and Second Street. Joe Viechnicki spoke with architect Corey Wall to get an idea of what the inside of the new building will look like.
