Advance directives allows people to make decisions about their health care before they’re in a situation where they can’t make decisions.

The Petersburg Medical Center is hosting an advance directives night, April 19, 7-8 p.m. in the Dorothy Ingle Conference room.

Dr. Cortney Hess is a family physician at the medical center. She spoke with KFSK’s Angela Denning about advance directives. She says it’s just a technical term for laying out your wishes for your health care in a legal format.

This week is National Health Care Decision Week.
