A former Petersburg resident is reading from her book and signing copies Wednesday, July 11 at the Petersburg Public Library. Erika Bracken Probst is the author of a book for ages five and up called “Friends on my Street A Celebration of Diversity.” She self-published it in October of 2017. It’s written from the point of view of her son Rowan, five years old at the time. It explores the stories and cultures of people in their neighborhood in Hillsboro, Oregon. Bracken Probst grew up in Petersburg and has lived in the Portland area for more than 20 years. She works as a nurse educator. Joe Viechnicki spoke with her about writing the book.

Erika Bracken Probst will be reading from her book at the public library tonight at 6:30. She also maintains a facebook page for the book with posts on religions and cultures of the world.
