The Viking Swim Club in Petersburg is hosting a meet this weekend. It’s the annual November Rain meet that was rescheduled because of the pandemic.

November Rain is the one regional meet a year that the local swim club hosts. It’s been canceled the last two years because of COVID but this year it’s happening Friday and Saturday at the Community Pool.

KFSK’s Angela Denning stopped by the pool to chat with Head Coach Scott Burt about the team and the event. He says the meet is the last opportunity for swimmers to qualify for Alaska Age Groups Championships in Fairbanks, February 18.

The November Rain swim meet starts Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Community Pool.
