
Petersburg’s high school varsity boys basketball team won both of their weekend games at Wrangell’s homecoming on Jan. 16-17. The Vikings won 51–25 against the Wolves on Friday, and 65–36 on Saturday.
KFSK’s Taylor Heckart sat down with head coach Rick Brock to hear about the rivalry games. Brock said Wrangell fought hard during both games, but the Vikings still came out on top.

Brock said the boys are in a good spot this season.
“I like the space that we’re in,” he said. “We’ve talked a lot about ourselves and making sure that we are playing as well as we can.”
He said the team’s goal is to be better every single day.
Petersburg is hosting varsity and JV boy’s basketball home games against Craig on Friday, Jan. 23, and Saturday, Jan 24.
On Friday, there is a blue and white game at 4:30 p.m.; JV boys play at 5:30 and the varsity boys play at 7:00.
On Saturday, there is a blue and white game at 4:00 p.m.; JV boys play at 5:00, and the varsity boys play at 6:30.
