Petersburg High School cross country had its first in-person meet of the season last weekend in Klawock and took many of the top spots.

Petersburg to send salmon disaster declaration request

Petersburg’s borough government will ask the state to seek a disaster declaration for the economic losses from a dismal salmon season this summer. The numbers are not yet final, but a combination of low prices and low returns has the summer of 2020 shaping up to be one of the worst in decades.

Most of Petersburg’s remaining CARES Act money earmarked for hospital, child care and business grants

Petersburg’s borough assembly Tuesday gave the green light to spending another $1.1 million dollars of federal coronavirus relief money for three different needs. The largest portion of that may go to the local hospital if needed. Another big piece will be paid out in grants to local businesses. And local families needed financial support for child care also will be able to apply.
