PHS basketball season ends with region titles, no shot at state

Petersburg High School’s basketball teams returned home victorious from the region five 2A tournament in Juneau over the weekend. Those were also the last games of the season as the state athletic association has cancelled state championships.

Petersburg High School’s boys team beat Wrangell Thursday 45-34 to open up the region five 2A tournament in Juneau. The girls team also won their opening game Wednesday, topping Wrangell 35-27.
