PHS swim team leads some events at Ketchikan swim meet

Although Petersburg High School’s small swim team couldn’t compete in overall team points they did take first place in some events at the regional swim meet in Ketchikan, Sept. 15-16.

Gamble and the High Costa Living to perform in Petersburg

Dubbed the best band within 500 miles, Gamble and the High Costa Living will be performing in Petersburg Saturday night at the Sons of Norway Hall starting at 8 p.m. The 10-piece band hails from Juneau.

Petersburg School District to assess students with two main tests each year

Last year was the first year the state used PEAKS for the official state standardized test. But school districts all over the state have been using MAP too. KFSK’s Angela Denning looks at having two different tests for students every year.

School board to hear 2017 student assessment test results

The Petersburg School District board will be meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Middle and High School library. The meeting is open to the public and KFSK will be broadcasting it as well.

Petersburg couple creates full length feature film

Heather and Brandon Thomas are producing the full length film, “The Last 40 Miles”. They filmed the movie this fall around Petersburg and plan to have the first screening by the end of the year.
