Petersburg holds 53rd Little Norway Festival

The 2010 Little Norway Festival has arrived. The annual celebration of Norwegian heritage in Petersburg commemorates Syttende Mai, Norway’s constitution day on the 17th of May. It’s the 53rd year of the local festival, and it’s also the centennial anniversary of Petersburg’s incorporation as a city. This year’s Mayfest includes new events as well as traditional offerings, and of course the vikings and valkyries will be out and about throughout. Young and Taylor show watercolors and silver

A new series of local water color paintings and hand-crafted jewelry goes on display at one of Petersburg’s downtown art galleries tonight. Mexico-based community and animal aid group with local ties gives talk

The Petersburg Humane Association and the Public Library host a presentation called Compassion in Action on Thursday, May 13th at 3:30pm in the City Council Chambers. The Presenter is Molly Fisher, Founder and Director of the Mexico-based organization PEACE, which stands for Protection, Education, Animals, Culture, and Environment. The group advocates for the well-being of animals and people, and has a connection to the local humane association in Petersburg. Fisher sat down for a live interview in with KFSK's Matt Lichtenstein during a recent Midday Magazine.
