Using Petersburg’s harbors will cost more, starting in March. The Borough is increasing wide-ranging fees, from amenities to moorage. Harbor fees were last increased in 2022. Petersburg’s harbor department and the local harbor and ports advisory board recommended this 10% increase to catch up, and keep up, with inflation.

Petersburg High School students are ready to perform their spring play, “The Matchmaker.” The romantic comedy follows a larger-than-life cast of characters in 1880s New York. Ticket sales from the shows will go toward sending theater students to Scotland this summer.

This comes from a Feb. 2 work session between the Petersburg Borough Assembly and Tidal Network, with extensive testimony from the community. Since last fall, a number of residents have spoken up about their concerns and frustrations with the project — but not everyone’s opposed to the idea.

Organizers say the number of people sleeping in places not meant for habitation in Petersburg was higher than identified in previous years, according to initial survey estimates.
