Last Friday the Petersburg School District honored veterans with a parade like they do every year for Veteran’s Day. Students from the Petersburg School District lined the street in front of the elementary school. They were bouncing with excitement – and cold. It was just above freezing, and blustery. A line of fire trucks and cars filled with veterans stretched up the hill. But unlike most parades in Petersburg, the kids weren’t running for candy – they were running up to the trucks to deliver cards and drawings and thank you notes.
