Petersburg Borough Assembly adopts new wireless facility regulations after months of debate
The Petersburg Borough Assembly has approved a major zoning update for regulating wireless communications facilities, like cell towers. Members adopted the regulations into local code after a final round of deliberation on July 20.
The tower issue gained traction, and controversy, in Petersburg since new wireless infrastructure projects emerged last year. The long-anticipated zoning ordinance has been met with much criticism from all sides. But assembly members say the contested measure is at least a start.
