PETERSBURG-AK Petersburg’s newest police officer grew up here in town. The department recently hired 23-year-old Joey Boggs to for a new position funded through the Alaska Department of Transportation. Boggs is a 2002 graduate of Petersburg high school and an Army veteran. The new position will allow the department to provide more of a presence at the local airport as well the schools and downtown.
