PETERSBURG, AK Shoppers in Petersburg could have two days a year free of local sales tax if the city council and local voters approve. The council Tuesday passed the first reading of an ordinance that will put the tax free days on the October ballot. The council also heard concerns over the condition of a local street and discussed pollution insurance for city tidelands leases.
