The meeting minutes detail board discussions about a financial crisis at the PIA with board members recommending potential staff lay-offs, possible spending cuts and loans. <br />
In an email to KFSK, Ness writes that she has been involved with the Petersburg Indian Association for the past 30 years and has been on the executive board in one capacity or another including Board chair. Ness writes that she has been board secretary for the past three years, takes her responsibilities seriously and has taken minutes as accurately as she can.<br />
She writes she is saddened by the events that had transpired during the first 12 days in October and by what has occurred since her resignation on October 12th. She adds that Petersburg Indian Association has been able to offer much to the community and multiple jobs to its tribal members and hopes those endeavors will continue.<br />
She declined to comment further on matter.
