The wide-ranging reconciliation bill known as the “Big Beautiful Bill” was signed into law by President Trump earlier this month. Parts of the bill include changes and cuts to Medicaid. 


Petersburg Medical Center CEO Phil Hofstetter has been outspoken against the changes to Medicaid, and said the bill could put rural healthcare at risk. He told KFSK’s Taylor Heckart that these changes could make it more difficult for patients to seek care.

Hofstetter said the Petersburg Medical Center “will do everything that we can within our facility to help people stay and maintain and be on Medicaid.”
