Softball is growing in Petersburg with the addition of a youth fast pitch softball club. KFSK’s Taylor Heckart spoke with Petersburg Little League President Becky Turland before the team attended a softball clinic in Ketchikan. Turland said that while the club is brand-new, softball has been in Petersburg for a while.
Turland said that the softball team is still fundraising. Mitkof Mayhem has a “sponsor board” which shows varying amounts that people can donate. Donors will have their names permanently added to a banner at the ballfield. Turland said that every $5 donated will go toward an entry into a raffle.
