Banana Point breakwater replacement project moves forward with more funding

The Petersburg Borough is moving forward with a project to replace deteriorating breakwaters at the Banana Point boat launch, 25 miles south of Petersburg. After the Borough received additional funding for the project, the assembly approved a bid award to Ketchikan-based Western Dock & Bridge at a meeting on Nov. 3.

Petersburg High School swim team ‘raced like maniacs’ at regional competition; all swimmers heading to state championship

Every member of the Petersburg High School swim team is heading to the state championship. “On finals day, they stepped up and raced like maniacs,” head swim coach Andy Carlisle told KFSK. “It was a very good day.”
