Petersburg documentary premiere raises $8,000 for struggling movie theater

Three showings for the documentary “Tide and Table” doubled as a fundraising opportunity for Petersburg’s nonprofit movie theater. The money comes during a time when the Northern Nights Theater has been struggling to stay open and pay the bills.

Three test screenings of the documentary will happen in Petersburg this weekend, Dec. 5-6, and the production company is seeking community feedback to shape the final product. The showings will also double as a fundraiser for the local movie theater.
