PETERSBURG-AK Girls On The Run has wrapped up its first program in Petersburg., Girls on the Run is an internationally-known program with a stated mission of preparing elementary school-aged girls “for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living”. The girls finished up with a 5k run/walk event after 12 weeks of running, playing games, and learning with teen and adult volunteers and teachers. Matt Lichtenstein stopped by a couple of afternoons before the big race and produced this sound-portrait of the program
