PETERSBURG, AK The small city of Kupreanof is opposing the northern route for an electrical connection from hydro-powered Petersburg to diesel-powered Kake. The Kupreanof city council remains in support of supplying Kake with cheaper, cleaner power but Kupreanof residents don’t want the project to cut through their community.
