Petersburg’s advocacy and aid group for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault has a new, full-time Program Manager and the group is looking at ways to increase its services thanks to new state funding. Working against Violence for Everyone, WAVE, has hired Annette Wooten for the job and she just started work about a week ago. Wooten grew up in Petersburg.

According to WAVE President Carey Case, a two-year, 62 thousand-dollar-a-year grant from the state has opened up new possibilities for the non-profit. Matt Lichtenstein spoke with Wooten and Case this week:
