Petersburg High School Senior, Ian Fleming, won a national science competition in Maryland. It was the 53rd National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium and Fleming took first among 11 students in the environmental science category. This achievement follows his win at a state science symposium earlier this year.

Besides the honor of being the national winner Fleming receives a $12,000 scholarship to any school in the country.
