A Petersburg woman is scheduled to go to trial in January trial for allegedly breaking into a downtown Petersburg business earlier this year.

22-year-old Brittany Martin was indicted last month on a charge of burglary in the second degree. She’s accused of allegedy stealing money and valuables from Beach Bum Tanning Salon in downtown Petersburg. Prosecutors allege she broke into the building through a window and took over $800 dollars in cash and merchandise in April. Police took fingerprints from the crime scene and received the results back from that case in early October. She was arrested at that time and later released on bail.

Martin was also was convicted in a separate case this year after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of criminal trespassing and theft.

She was arraigned on Tuesday morning in the Petersburg court house and her attorney entered a not guilty plea on her behalf. A trial, expected to take three days, is scheduled for the week of January 25th.
