The Petersburg School board is meeting Tuesday at 6 p.,m. in the Middle and High School library.

The Petersburg School Board Tuesday will vote on the election of officers for the school year. The school board meets at 6 p.m. in the high school library for a regular meeting.

Superintendent Erica Kludt-Painter will conduct the election of School Board President. The President will then conduct the election of Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. Board members will also decide on board committee assignments. They include committees for Crisis, Curriculum, Facilities, Legislative Liaison, Negotiations, Policy, Technology, and Wellness.

At the meeting, the school board will listen to a presentation on the Northern Nights Movie Theater. The non-profit theater was started in 1997 and shows movies in the Wright Auditorium. Ir has a partnership with the school district and hires only teens who are students at the middle and high schools. Student board members from the theater will present their annual report at the school board meeting.

The school board will also see a presentation by high school students about E-Sports or electronic sports and a team-based Video Game Competition.

The school board will hear the monthly accounting report, which includes bills, payroll, electronic fund transfers and other financial details with the district.

Also at the meeting, there will be administrative reports from the superintendent, the principals, and the activities director.

And the board also plans to schedule a work session to discuss the goals of the Superintendent and board and the Superintendent contract.

The school board will be meeting in the high school library at 6 p.m. It is open to the public. KFSK will broadcast the meeting live.
