A new informational sign board has been erected at Sandy Beach Park to help inform people about the nearby trails and wildlife. There are three panels made of cedar and each one represents a partner in the collaboration—the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department Association, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Petersburg Borough.

The project has been in the making for a few years. Eric Castro came up with the original idea. He’s been part of all three of the groups that are involved—he’s a volunteer at the fire department, he works for the Forest Service, and he’s a former borough assemblyman. He spoke with KFSK’s Angela Denning about the project.

The funds for the project came from the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department Association.
