Petersburg High School’s baseball teams played five home games against the Crimson Bears of Juneau Douglas High last weekend. The Vikings varsity team lost three games to the visitors.

In varsity games Juneau won 12-2 on Friday, 6-3 Saturday in the first game and 17-11 in an extra inning game that afternoon. The junior varsity won on Friday 13-3 and tied on Saturday 9-9.

Latham Johnson had the sole hit for Petersburg in that first game. Sawyer Bryner pitched the full game and had two hits in the second game. Thomas Durkin had three hits and pitched seven innings in that final game.

The Vikings are on the road this week with three games in Sitka Wednesday and Thursday. The first game is Wednesday night at around 7:30 p.m. There’s a doubleheader with games at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday. Games can be viewed online on the Sitka AK Live you tube channel
