Amy Poe with her suggestions box at the Petersburg Public Library. (Ari Snider/KFSK)

For the second year in a row, the Petersburg Public Library is welcoming a summer intern through the Alaska State Library Internship Project. Taking that position this year is Amy Poe, who is getting her Masters in Library Science through the University of North Texas. Her project this summer focuses on user experience, finding ways for the library to better meet the needs of the community both in-person and online. Poe spoke with KFSK’s Ari Snider about what brought her here and what she’s hoping to accomplish this summer.

Poe will be in Petersburg through the end of August. If you would like to share your thoughts and comments about library services, you can send her an email at intern@petersburgak.gov
