Petersburg Emergency officials announced another positive COVID-19 case Thursday evening.

The latest case is a Petersburg resident who tested at the airport while returning to town on Tuesday (Oct. 20). The positive result came back Thursday.

Petersburg’s Emergency Operation Center (E.O.C.) says the person followed the state’s travel mandate and limited contacts while awaiting their test results. The E.O.C. believes the risk of COVID spread in the community is low.

The new case marks Petersburg’s 20th case. Twelve have been residents and eight non-residents. This latest case is considered to be the only active case in town.
