Anonymous painting of acrylic on canvas in the “Art by Survivors for Survivors” exhibit at the Clausen Museum in Petersburg.

An art exhibit featuring anonymous art from survivors of sexual assault is on display at the Clausen Museum in Petersburg.  It’s called “Art by Survivors for Survivors” and is a joint effort between WAVE—Working Against Violence for Everyone—and the museum.

Hillary Hunter works with WAVE. She met up with KFSK’s Angela Denning at the museum to explain the details of the show. She says April seems like the right time for the exhibit because it is sexual assault awareness month.

Hunter says they hope to make the survivors art exhibit an annual event.

You can visit the show at the Clausen Memorial Museum through Saturday. It’s open today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
