Stephanie Hayes (Joe Viechnicki/KFSK)

A free concert of classical and romantic harp music was planned with local resident Stephanie Hayes this Saturday, February 5. Unfortunately this concert has been postponed until a later date.

Hayes has been playing harp since the age of 15. She performed in orchestras while attending the University of British Columbia and University of Washington along with some solo performances during her university days. She says she put aside that talent while working as a marine biologist but took advantage of the COVID pandemic to dust off her harp and rekindle her love for that instrument.

Joe Viechnicki spoke with Hayes about that instrument and the program she’s chosen for the concert.

The concert was planned for Saturday, February 5th at 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church’s Holy Cross House but it will be rescheduled.
