Petersburg High School boys basketball took sixth place at the 2A state championship in Anchorage last weekend. The Vikings had a win over Hooper Bay and losses to Unalakleet and Unalaska.

For Petersburg Lathum Johnson was named the player of the game in the first game against Unalakleet. Jack Engell had that honor the next day and Rik Cumps against Unalaska.

Joe Viechnicki caught up with boys coach Rick Brock for his view of the competition and a look back on the season.

Southeast champion Metlakatla took second to the state champions from Ninilchik.
