Community spread of COVID-19 still present in Petersburg

Eight COVID cases may not seem like a lot but to Sandy Dixon, the Borough’s Fire and EMS Director, it’s significant. “The probably most concerning thing is that it’s still community spread,” Dixon said. “So, we’re not really sure where it’s coming from.”

“Violence in the household can take many forms. It can be psychological violence, it can be, you know, extreme control over household finances. It can be extreme control over who an individual visits with and sees. It can be that slamming fist on the kitchen table that silences all conversation. There’s a lot of different behaviors that can encompass domestic violence,” says WAVE board member, Nicole McMurren.
