Well-traveled sailing couple recounts ocean adventures outbound from Alaska’s Little Norway

A sailing couple who hail from the southern part of France prepared this month to leave South Harbor headed south down the coast. They’ve taken their 50-foot aluminum sailboat named Hakea from Spitsbergen in the Svalbard Archipelago of Norway to Antarctica and the island of South Georgia.

Local dance troupe returns to in-person performances

Petersburg High School’s wrestling team wrapped up the regular season on the road at the Pilot Invitational tournament at Thunder Mountain High School in Juneau last Friday and Saturday. The Vikings traveled with a smaller team of just five wrestlers and saw competition against most other schools in Southeast.
