Petersburg High School swim team ‘raced like maniacs’ at regional competition; all swimmers heading to state championship

Every member of the Petersburg High School swim team is heading to the state championship. “On finals day, they stepped up and raced like maniacs,” head swim coach Andy Carlisle told KFSK. “It was a very good day.”

Petersburg celebrated Halloween a week early with a local trunk or treat hosted by the Petersburg Indian Association. Organizers say the community-oriented event may have been the first of its kind in Petersburg, and the goal was to bring people together.

Petersburg welcomes exchange student from Germany

Since the early 1990s, Petersburg’s Rotary Club has participated in international exchange programs. Each year, a student from Petersburg spends time in another country, and the community welcomes an international student for the school year. This year, that student was Jakob Preisler from Germany.
