PETERSBURG, ALASKA Crew members, families and friends of the Petersburg-based coast guard cutter Elderberry on Wednesday said goodbye to one skipper and welcomed another during a ceremony under sunny skies on the Petersburg waterfront. The change of command ceremony for the 65-foot buoy tender marked the end of a two-year stint for Master Chief Matt Lasley, who handed over the helm to Senior Chief Jim Madsen. He’s a native of Bellevue, Washington and an 18-year veteran of the Coast Guard.
