PETERSBURG-AK Petersburg’s City Council last night got an overview of the funding plan for Petersburg’s new public library construction and it includes a bond measure for up to a million and a half dollars. Library advocates who spoke at Monday’s council meeting said putting the bond measure on the ballot would leverage the additional million dollars needed to round out the building fund. In other business Monday, the council learned that the city’s insurance costs will be much higher than expected in the coming year. Councilors also passed a revised resolution on the federal Roadless Rule. Matt Lichtenstein has an overview of Monday’s council meeting
