The Petersburg boys’ swim team won a region-wide meet in Juneau last weekend. The Thunder Mountain meet included teams from all over Southeast Alaska.

The Sitka boys took second place and the Ketchikan boys took third.

On the girls’ side, the top three teams were Juneau Douglas, Thunder Mountain, and Ketchikan.

Petersburg highlights are as follows:

Abel Aulbach and Evan Marsh both took four, 1st places. Each swimmer won two individual events and two relays.

Aulbach won the Boys 100 and the 200 yard free events on Friday. Evan Marsh won the Boys 100 yard back stroke on Friday and the 100 yard fly on Saturday.

Both Aulbach and Marsh were part of the winning relay team for the Boys 400 yard free relay on Friday and the 200 yard free relay on Saturday. The other swimmers in those relays were Skipper Erickson and Ian Fleming.

Aulbach also took second place in the Boys 50 yard free event and third in the 100 yard breast stroke, both on Saturday.

Marsh also took third place in the 200 yard free event on Friday.

Ian Fleming took second place in the Boys 200 yard individual medley on Friday.

Skipper Erickson took second place in the Boys 200 yard free event and third place in the 100 yard free event, both on Saturday.

Nels Evens took third place in the Boys 500 yard free event on Saturday.

Britton Erickson won the Boys 1 meter diving both days and Izabelle Ith won the Girls 1 meter diving on Saturday.
