Marijuana was legalized in Alaska February 24 after voters statewide supported the move during last fall’s election. In the Petersburg-Kupreanof district that vote was about 58 to 42 percent in favor of legalizing personal consumption of pot. So what does that mean for the borough right now?
Angela Denning sat down with Police Chief, Kelly Swihart, to find out.

The Petersburg Borough Assembly has approved a local marijuana regulation advisory committee to help tease out details of how the borough will move ahead with the legalization of marijuana.

Several offenses require court appearances and fines according to these Alaska Statutes on Marijuana.
